Yahoo! Answers

I walked to the school library at a fast pace. I could not let anyone catch me doing this. I did not want to ruin my reputation, and this is just too embarrassing to admit to anyone else. I slipped into the library discretely and made my way to the back where the computers are. Looking around to make sure nobody was watching me, I took out my access card. I hated how the United States government implemented these. This piece of plastic could make my whole life a living hell.

I quickly put my card into the scanner and stared at the facial recognition system

The words “RILEY ALEXANDER: ACCESS GRANTED” slid across the screen in green.

I quickly went to Yahoo! Answers and opened up a new forum for a question, not even having to log in.

“Here goes nothing,” I thought to myself. If anyone finds out about this, my life will be over. Hopefully nobody uses Yahoo! anymore, because I cannot have people seeing my name linked to this .

I rapidly typed “I think that I was abducted by aliens a week ago, and I don’t know what to do! PLEASE HELP!!!”

I quickly read it over and submitted it. I silently prayed to God that nobody at school would find this post online. They will all think that I am crazy. I logged out of the computer and headed into the hallway towards my study hall classroom where I sat in my normal seat next to Branson, my boyfriend.

About half an hour passed, and the lunch bell rang through the intercom. “Finally,” I groaned to Branson, “I am craving some pizza!”

Branson and I walked to the cafeteria and started down the lunch line. I went to pick up a slice of pizza and was met by another hand grabbing the same slice. I looked up and found the familiar face of Freddie.

“Hey, Freddie!” I said enthusiastically.

“Hey, Riley, he said with a smirk, “Sorry for abducting your pizza. I don’t want you going crazy on me or anything.”

My heart started pounding out of control. I stared at him wide-eyed and fearful. He found out. I quickly turned around and stared at the food on the line in front of me, trying to act normal again. I knew, though, things would never be normal for me again.

I swiftly payed for my lunch and opted to sit outside, away from the large crowd of people around me. I felt like all eyes were on me as I headed to the back door of the cafeteria. I grasped the cold, metal door handle and began to open it, but someone quickly grabbed it and slammed the door shut.

“You know, Riley, I don’t think it is the best idea to go outside considering your…circumstances,” a voice sneered, “Don’t want to get caught outside. You know, in case something happens.”

I immediately turned around to see Klai Bennett with a Cheshire grin on her face. My face drained of the very small amount of color it contains. No…not her.

“Klai, what are you talking about?” Branson inquired, “Why is everyone acting so weird today?”

“Well…I…I…” I stuttered.

“You what?” Branson questioned with a curious, but concerning look on his face.

"Well, she has gone off the rocker!” Klai laughed, “I think you need to get your girlfriend checked into the looney bin.”

My face immediately went red. This was so embarrassing! Branson will never understand!

“Riley, what is she talking about?” Branson questioned.

I only met him with a blank stare.

“Well, Branson, your girlfriend here thinks she has been abducted by aliens,” she smirked.

Branson looked at me warily, “What?”

“Nobody was supposed to see that…” I trailed off, "How did you even find it?"

Klai looked at me with an evil grin, "I have my account linked to everyone in the school. How else am I supposed to find out all of the gossip?"

"Of course," I said while rolling my eyes.

“You can’t hide from the Internet, Riley...or me. We are all knowing.”
